Barbara Carlyle

Barbara has been doing comedy for 40 years! Her comedic skills are so carefully honed that she leaves audiences in stitches wherever she goes. But comedy hasn’t always been her only contribution to society.

Barbara has appeared on Apollo Comedy Hour, Def Jam, Comic View, Comic Xscape, just to name a few.

Carlyle did a short stint in the Marine Corps (cause she was looking for a few good men) and tried her hand at teaching for a short while.

A stickler for detail, she can speed read an audience and know exactly where to take her jokes. Hecklers think twice about testing her skills cause this young lady takes no prisoners and die hard wannabes fall prey to her vicious tongue.

Carlyle has performed in Germany, The Netherlands, England, the Virgin Islands (trying to be a born-again virgin) and other exotic places. Carlyle has one daughter and several baby daddies. You do the math. Her aim in life is to leave an indelible mark in the world of comedy.

Nikita B

Nikita B

“Hilarious”, “Original”, “Honest” & “Stylish” Are just a few words to describe the comedic styles of Comedian Nikita B. She started her career after losing her mother Veronica Kirk Blakeney to her battle of breast cancer in June of 2010. She says “I told my mom when she got better; I was going to hit a stage and perform and dedicate the performance to her.”

Sadly, her mom passed away before this could happen. While grieving the loss of her mom Nikita decided she would go onstage and tell her story as she spoke about common things people did and said when visiting with families that were going through bereavement and was a huge success.

Only 3 short months after her start in comedy she was connected with one of the writers from the Monique show, comedian Tone-X and a well-known local radio personality Fly Ty of My 92.7, who both accompanied Chris ‘FunnyMan’ Robinson at Skandalos for the Tuesday night Tone-X and friends comedy show. These connections led to the performances that Nikita is currently known for. It was through Fly Ty that Nikita was able to open for the Radio 1 family comedy tour at Oven’s Auditorium.

A stage that Nikita was told by some she wouldn’t perform on until she had been in the industry for at least 3-5 years. Nikita had graced the stage within the first 90 days of her start as a comedian. Since then the full time wife, mother and registered nurse has had endless request to perform all over the East Coast. Nikita has a story to tell and is not ashamed to speak about things that others often can relate to, but are too ashamed to talk about. From low self-esteem, to domestic violence, single parenthood, childhood, church folk and kinfolk, she talks about it all.

Nikita says “I love to talk about the way things were when I was younger because we have gotten so far away from “old school” tactics, but those were the things that kept families together. Nikita uses her witty personality and creative skills to engage the crowd and leave them wanting to hear more. Opening or featured act for: Radio 1 Family Tour, with Marcus D. Wiley, Small Fire, Chinitta, Woodey, and Griff at Oven’s auditorium.

Actor, model and R&B singer Tyrese at Bojangles Coliseum Sunday’s Best Winner Le’Andria Johnson in Orlando Florida for her new CD release ‘The Awakening.’ Actor and Comedian’s Michael Blackston and Chris Thomas just to name a few. She has won several comedy competitions such as: “So you think you’re funny: in Raleigh, NC with celebrity judges Darryl Littleton and Tina Graham. She also won the “Search for the One” comedy competition produced by Comedian, writer/co-producer of The Monique show Akintundae, who she is now traveling with on the Rebirth of Comedy Tour.

She has been requested to host many events from baby showers, wedding receptions, family reunions, women conferences, youth retreats, pastor anniversaries, but one that stands out the most for her is Charlotte Black Film Festival, an event that exhibits the new and upcoming talents of local civilians that desire to pursue careers in film, drama, dance and other artistic gifts directed by Tommy Nichols.
