J. Reid, Winner of Bill Bellamy’s “Who’s Got Jokes!”
Since age 19, comedian J. Reid has been entertaining audiences in Las Vegas and beyond. The Vegas native began his comedy career performing stand-up in small clubs throughout the city, and has since appeared in comedy venues from Los Angeles to Iraq.
Reid’s first break came when he was selected as a contestant on BET’s (Black Entertainment Television Network) “Coming To The Stage,” where he went head-to-head in a weekly comedic battle against other rising comedians. As a result of the appearance and his overwhelming talent, Reid quickly began garnering attention and booking performances at notable comedy clubs such as The Laugh Factory, The Hollywood Improv, and The Comedy Store.
Never forgetting home, Reid also performed for audiences on the world-famous Las Vegas Strip at hotels and casinos including Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood, The Tropicana, and The Rivera. Additionally, he hosted his own monthly comedy showcase, the “Grown and Sexy Comedy Show,” that featured well-known and amateur comedians and musicians.
Reid has also discovered other outlets to bring his style of comedy to the masses, including television, film, music, and radio. The popular funnyman has appeared in commercials and was featured in the blockbuster movie “21” starring Kevin Spacey. In July 2009, he was handpicked to travel to Iraq on a 10-day tour to entertain U. S. Army troops. Additionally, during the summer Reid hit the road and joined fellow comedian, Bill Bellamy on a national tour called The Ladies Night Out Tour.

During the season premier episode, Reid experienced joy and pain, when he advanced to the semi-finals and his father, Sammy, passed away on the same day. Reid fought through and beat out three other comedians to enter the finals of the show where he competed against his best friend and fellow comedian D”Lai. On December 12, viewers voted Reid the winner of “Who’s Got Jokes?”
This past July Reid was featured at the 2010 Essence Music Festival. Additionally Reid’s first 30 minute comedy special “L.M.A.O.” premiered on the national cable network TVONE.
